The start of the long weekend started out with a slumber party where they sang karaoke, were attacked by the little brother, made homemade pizzas, and stay up far too and slept in later.

A day spent at the beach to celebrate our dear friend, Jenn's, birthday was exactly what we needed.  It was a gorgeous day.  Not too cold and not too hot.

We were a little bit in shock that Heath allowed Steven to playfully use some pliers to pull his other front tooth.  But not tonight, it will have to wait.

Later that weekend we ran a few errands where Ashlyn and Reghan both gave us their stealthy cool look while trying on sunglasses.

Sunday took us on a hike where the kids laughed in the face of danger.

 Ashlyn collected wild flowers along the way for her remembrance bouquet for Memorial Day.
