Open house was this week and the kids and teachers really pulled out all the stops.  Ashlyn's teacher, Mrs. Galarza, transformed their Kindergarten room into an underwater adventure.

Their butterflies have moved into the Pupae stage and are in the big net waiting to break free into grown butterflies.

Heath's second grade teacher, Mrs. Denny, collected all sorts of projects from the past year and had a slide show running with a slide that each student made for the night along with their picture.

 

Reghan enjoyed showing us her third grade classroom where she had her work in folders and larger portfolios and quite a bit of it was hanging on the wall in the pod.

By far her most favorite teacher of all time, Mrs. Cook, is a huge supporter of hers.

Reghan, Ashlyn, and Kendan were a little on the short side to reach her book at the top, but they quickly found part of her Charlotte's Web project on display.

Each year they have an art installation the kids help make and this year it was inspired by the "Liquid Shard" installation in downtown LA above Pershing Square.

Friday night sleepovers.

Meanwhile Heath and Daddy were at his Tiger Scouts Cub cup.  There were a couple of hundred boys of all ages who came in to compete.  They spent the day competing in various obstacles, team relays, and individual competitions.

They also practiced the fine craft properly folding a flag.

 

Lunch couldn't be more opposite that day.  While Heath was eating hot dogs cooked over an open fire, us girls were hitting up the salad bar at Whole Foods.

Back at the house we continue to be on baby Hummingbird watch.  A hummingbird made a nest over our grill and hasn't left it much.  We've been avoiding the grill until the babies hatch.
