Ashlyn worked so hard towards her first Skaldic publication, the high schools award winning magazine, which was published in May. She had her pages and edits that flowed beautifully and read like she's been doing this for years.

The Viking Review, the high schools variety show, is always entertaining and the Color Guard put on a colorful dance.
The Lacrosse end of year recognition and awards banquette was especially special this year. Heath was voted on by his teammates as the winner of the Row the Boat award to recognize him as the one how keeps the team together and moving forward no matter what.

Wrapping up the month with the Memorial Day parade through our towns downtown.

May started out strong with Prom which is held at the Museum of Science and Technology. Koi went with his friend Torri and I chaperoned this year with Julie so got to experience it first hand and loved seeing the kids in their element.

We went to Koi's admitted students day to both the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Columbia College Chicago and by the end of the day he made his choice without hesitation. His future home will be Columbia!

Ashlyn gave Heath purple ghost hair which took a while but looked really great when done.
Lacrosse season seemed to fly by this year and Heath #21 had some really strong plays starting out the season with a hat trick.
Ashlyn spent part of her birthday weekend with her bestie, Avery and had a number of surprise gifts waiting for her to unwrap during the week.
Our newly turned 15 year old is still an avid chef and I came home one evening to find her making pasta for dinner.

We spent the day in Chicago with the kids leading the way. We took the train in, visited the Planetarium, China Town for hot pot, then up to Wicker Park before hopping back on the train home.

Even though they all make fun of dear old mom, this time the Tic Toc hack for coloring Easter Eggs worked and they were beautiful little marbled gems when finished.
This view is always one of my favorites.

We spent an evening at what's become an annual trek to Cary Grove High School to see their yearly musical that our friend Mike directs the stage development and construction each year. It's truly an professional production year after year that we look forward to and this year's was Urinetown.

The high school band had their winter concert which is always a nice evening.
Auntie Amy, Auntie Jewlez, and myself attended the Chicago No Kings March the end of March on a beautiful Sunday morning and was energized by the crowd and support throughout the march.

While the kids were in Orlando, Steven and I jetted off for a long weekend to Holbox, Mexico and was a phenomenally relaxing getaway.
