Nonnie and Poppie took a couple of weeks and road tripped out here for Easter.  They pulled into town a few days before Easter and was immediately absorbed into our daily weekday lives.  Nonnie worked on her needlepoint in the mornings and started to teach the kids about it and they didn't miss an opportunity to snuggle with Poppie.

Soon after Auntie Amy arrived just in time for happy besties sleepover.

The day before was full of cooking and kitchen time.

While poor Pretzel tolerated the day.

Meanwhile, in the garage the guys were working on their Pinewood Derby cars for the upcoming race.

We tried the shaving cream egg coloring trick and they actually turned out pretty good.

Followed by painting and putting the finishing touches on their derby cars.

Easter morning they awoke to look out the window and see large bunny tracks hopping into the neighbors house which only got them more excited for the day.

They were on a solid sugar rush until they crashed that night.

Plenty of disco parties in their front room.

Along with flying light up thingys thanks to Auntie Jen Jen.  The ceiling also became littered with sticky flamingos and chickens (many of which are still stuck more than a week later) no thanks to Nonnie throwing some up there as well.

Then our dear friends began to arrive.  The day was warm but not too hot and a fun time.  It was quite the trek they undertook to drive here and we greatly appreciate it.

The girls ruled at corn hole. (Thank you Auntie Amy + Auntie Jewlz for the perfectly branded new lawn game)

And then there's the bunny.  The funny looking pinata bunny that Vivian and Matt picked up and filled with candy.  Oh my.

It moved all over the house.

And had some strange encounters along the way.

It's not Easter without an egg hunt.  The older kids had to wait till the end for the waves of younger ones to go first but they did just fine.

Anne and Brian thought it would be fun to bring hundreds and hundreds of water balloons so of course we had to fill them.  So with wet kids and adults alike we took to finally getting that bunny!

Till finally it gave way and the candy frenzy began.

It almost seemed as though they had more fun destroying the head on the ground over the intact hanging bunny.

And cutie pie little Ted got a haircut.  The kids still think he looks like an 80's football player with they style and giggle while saying it but he wears it well.

Anne brought a surprise birthday cake for miss Ashlyn since she's not having a birthday party this year.  She was completely surprised and held onto the Moana doll that came with it for days and days.  For the topper she brought the adults silly string for when we sang.  It was such a day and nice to spend it with family and friends that are family.
