The Christmas season is upon and dippity doo, we love it. It started with the opening of the Advent Calendar and hasn’t stopped since.
So many activities so few pictures. Reghan and her friend Callie spent an afternoon ringing The Salvation Army bell, the kids took part in a school protest and learned about some more of their rights as citizens, St. Nick came, just to name a few.
Reghans 11th birthday was on a school night but that didn’t stop them from devouring a small cake for it. Five minutes and it was gone.
Our community has a very well attended holiday celebration downtown. The streets are shut down and are filled with music and carolers or all types, Santa, the grinch, a nativity we with real animals and people, and it goes on and on. We had our first freshly pulled warm candy cane which was delicious.
A couple doors down from the candy cane was another candy shop giving out fresh hot liquid chocolate and Heath quickly discovered his candy cane tasted scrumptious dipped in it.
The kids loved petting the animals before they were led onto the manger scene.
Finding our Christmas tree was especially fun this year. To start the morning we got hot cocoa and warm apple cinnamon doughnuts then outside to the trees. But before we found one we had to explore the tractors.
Eventually we found a perfectly huggable tree to call our own.
Heath helped daddy bring it in and cut the wrapping. (He’s learning about knife safety in Scouts) Reghan was tall enough to reach the top on her own this year.
Heath made Pretzel and mini decorated tree on one of her scratching pads and as much as she likes it she prefers the real one.
I had a helper in the kitchen while making cookies. She helped me get ready for our cookie decorating extravaganza. This year we covered everything in plastic. (We’re learning)
Heath has been practicing whitteling on soap bars before he moves onto wood.
And a proper birthday celebration for Reghans 11th birthday with a house full of family and friends.
