The kids have been busy decorating their hideout down the street.  Reghan and Elle were guarding the entrance one day and stopped me in my tracks before I could take another step. 

The local high school’s homecoming game turned out to be Reghan’s first football game and she’s hooked. She came in later that night supporting the team in a newly acquired t-shirt while dancing a jig. 

Heath is really enjoying Lacrosse this fall and is picking up the sport quickly. 

Meanwhile, Reghan had a big school trip to pack for, Outdoor Ed. A fifth grade sleep away camp in Wisconsin. The day before she left, her Auntie’s helped check off the final items from her “what to pack” list including showing her how to use a disposable camera. Something very foreign to her but since they weren’t allowed electronics and only one disposable camera, it was crucial for her to understand the finite amount of photos she had. 

The morning she left she was full of nervous excitement. With her bags in tow, she headed off. Days later she returned, beaming from the week and camp memories.

Some weekends just don’t go as planned. This past weekend was one of them. One of the plans was to go to the Shed Aquarium but it was sold out so we defaulted to the Planetarium. It had been ages since we’ve been there and although it wasn’t the desired museum, it turned out to be quite educational. 

There were a lot of interactive exhibits. One of the favorites was a camera with a delayed feed. They played out a lot of different scenarios through the lense of the camera. 

There was a historical section which had a mock-up classroom from the midivil ages. Ashlyn taught while the rest of us read up on the types of lessons of the day. Given We caught Auntie Amy yawning and Reghan and Heath chatting, she needs to liven it up a bit. 

 Outside they found an extremely friendly bug that looked like a leaf and climbed all over the three of them. They opted to find a tree to set it free on. 

A slice of Oreo Peanut Butter Pie from Fat Willy’s was more like a piece of heaven at the end of the day.  

As always these kids can find the fun in anything.

Ashlyn has learned how to defend her and her friends against the attack of the brothers. No Nerf Gun is too big for this girl. 

This last weekend was chilly and rainy so what better to do than make colorful cupcakes to brighten up the day with new friends.  The girls took it very serious and produced bright treats for all.
