We spent Labor Day weekend at Nonnie and Poppie’s. After Reghan pilfered Nonnie’s closets and a good nights rest she woke to the licks of her favorite puppy, Luna. Meanwhile, Heath and Daddy glanced through the Cabella’s magazine and Heath showed off his fire arm knowledge that we didn’t know he had. After Reghan got going she worked some more on sewing a new creature. The one from the following night “accidentally” was dropped into Nonnie’s glass of beer and she wasn’t too pleased about it. 

It turned out to be a nice day and the kids took to the neighbors pool. Luna was dying to jump in the water and Auntie Amy was looking forward to it also so the first chance she got, her first swim lesson began. 

Ashlyn chose the dessert, a three layer berry pavlova and she impressed us all by making it all.  From reading and measuring to mixing all the ingredients. She even got Reghan to assist in buttering the pie pans. We didn’t get a picture of the finished product but she presented it beautifully and it was scrumptious. 

A few big changes happened with Steven and I. I said goodbye to my locks. Seven years of hair growth gone compliments of the master, Auntie Jewlz. Before and after below. 

Although Steven didn’t shear his hair off, he happily brought home a new toy. 

Even Pretzel has learned some new tricks with the new house. This girl now loves to play catch. If you can’t see the video below, click on the following link.

We had our first block party which was a smashing success. The fire department came by and opened the truck for the kids to climb in and on. 

The kids enjoyed bike and scooter decorating with a parade down the street afterwards to show off their decor.

Sunday we went on the hunt for our children after not seeing them for a while. It made us curious when we heard voices coming from the “field” at the end of the street. Knowing they, and other neighborhood kids, had pruning shears, shovels, and other tools one can only imagine what they were up to.  All we can say is, thank goodness for water shoes and washing machines. 

Lacrosse started up for Heath and to our surprise, so did Stevens first year as coach. Luckily there was a high school player and other mentors there who know there game to guide and teach us all. Ashlyn still looks forward to each Tuesday for gymnastics. And Reghan continues to improve on the flute. Between school, activities, play dates, and new places to explore, fall is in full swing.
