The first day of school for our fifth, third, and second graders was major this year with it being a new year in front of our new home in their new school. With all of this the kids took it on as if we’ve always been here.
The morning walk to school was a perfect temperature and they went off as if Dad and I weren’t even there.
As soon as we got to the school the kids split and found some of their new friends and really forgot about us. But Ashlyn showed we were still on her mind as she blew us a kiss while walking in the school.
With having the kids around all summer poor Pretzel was lost without them and wandered around the house most of the day looking for them and waiting by the door.
Later that week one of our neighbors had a BBQ which resulted in Reghan catching her first frog here. Words cannot describe the elation she felt. The little guys hung out on our porch overnight till it was set free the next morning.
Nonnie and Poppie came up on one of the hottest days and we strolled through the car show.
Along the way stopping for a refreshing scoop of ice cream.
To cool off the day further Heath went to the pool one last time with some of his new friends.
The following week was curriculum night and Nonnie came along this year to sit in on one of the classrooms. Each of them wrote a note to us and there was a place for us to write a note to them for them to find first thing on their desk. It’s been a fantastic start to the year and we continue to be impressed by the kids acceptance and assimilation into their new home. 2018-19 school year; bring it.
