The morning of the big day brought a houseful of friends. For months we've been trying to get together with some good friends of ours and it so happened that this was a day that we were able to coordinate schedules so he had a mini, impromptu party. The guys took off almost immediately for a round of golf and we hauled the crew of kiddies to the pool. There was absolutely no one there except for us which was perfect since we invaded with 4 of us and 6 kids in tow, we left a trail of toys in each of the pools. See more pictures of the day at Meg and Peter's blog the link here Cotugno Family Blog
The line up for snack time at the 'bubble pool'. The only one missing from this picture is Greyson who I think was on his way down the stairs on his way to the big pool.
A little lunch before a long nap. The little ones napped for almost 3 hours and the older ones played quietly in their rooms for just as long. This gave us girls a lovely afternoon of sitting outside and being able to catch up without running around or being on a time crunch. It was a pleasant reminder of why I like these gals so much.
Then the wake up time and goodbye relaxation.
Watch out big kids, the little ones can keep up and are plotting for their big come back.
Hey Greyson, what are you doing down there?
Reghan adores Anne and loved that she had some coloring time with her. Notice the bloody wounds on the dinosaurs? Those are from the volcano that they fell into...good influence...
(I think Max likes Ashlyn's balls.)
Heath has been obsessed with all things superhero and as of late has been completely enamored by Spider Man and this birthday was all about Spider Man.
Jenn and Meg enjoying the show.
And what a show.
From the moment they arrived, Heath and Vince were almost inseparable. The first thing they did when Vince arrived was give each other a big hug and the last thing they as Vince was leaving was hug each other and exchange a cute kiss goodbye. Love childhood innocence.
Then time for the big event. Anne and Brian offered to make the cake and, wow, the picture says it all. Heath loved it so much he was practically petting it after the candles were blown out.
Click below for an ear full of the great voices in the room and the birthday boy blowing out his candles with the best Spider Man cake ever.
And then the presents. Thank you to everyone who sent and brought gifts for Heath. We're very appreciative and Heath loves each and every one of them.
Our handsome little man at the end of the night passed out on top of his covers surrounded by his new toys dreaming of fighting the bad guys.
The next morning brought us to the Robot Store and Heath and Reghan picked out a remote control car to navigate through the disaster that was our house. All in all, I think Heath had a fantastic birthday weekend.
