I think we've finally succeeded in tiring our kids out!  Saturday morning we went to a new local park for a hike and who knew it had a "barnyard animals" section to it.  The bunnies and the cows were top performers of the day and when they were were finished there, we headed for the trail.

Along the way we encountered a "doggy cemetery".  There were multiple tombstones and Heath and Reghan made us read each one although some of them were so old the weather had worn the names down but that's alright because we made some up.
Then she saw it - the first tower to the castle at the top of the hill.  Rupunzel's tower which so happened to turn out to be a fantastic shady spot to stop for a snack.
Taking a rest at the top of the hill before heading back down to find the stars on the ground.
To round out the weekend, on Sunday, the kids and myself went to Santa Barbara to meet up with my dear friend, Shannon.  She was tagging along with her sister who is here for a convention and and niece.  This was the icing on the cake for the kids for 1.) they get to play with Shannon and Nicole at the beach,

2.) after the beach, swim around in the amazing Four Season's swimming pool,

3.)  and finally going on a adventure through the grounds of the hotel. They felt satisfied when they conquered the almost 150 year old tree.
A little while longer finding another humongous tree conveniently tucked down and around a path which was a perfect spot for Heath to go pee pee.
Wrapping the day up with chowing down some food and drinks.  Susan, Shannon's sister was quite the "pusher" of calamari to Reghan who, as a fellow older sister to a brother and sister, was giving advice, while Nicole, Shannon's niece was helping Heath keep his mouth full of food.
