As part of our yearly tradition, we made our way to Emily and Robert's for a 4th of July picnic and fireworks.  There are a couple of things that seem to always occur on this day.  First on the agenda, take a trip to the pool.  Heath soaked up some rays after splashing around for a while.
While Reghan the mermaid took off on her own.
Heath decided to get with the program and lead the way back to their place.  (To all who know Emily, take special note of her carrying baby Ashlyn, not exactly the Emily we know)
Time to get out of our wet swimsuits.  Our kids never shy away from naked time.
Now here's the Emily we know.  Is that grape juice she's giving my daughter?
As the day wound down, it was time gear up for the fireworks.
As always, thanks to a perfectly placed blanket placed at 5am in the morning at the lake, we strolled over to take our positions for some desert treats and fireworks.  Emily and Robert stocked up on cookies and ice cream bars for the kids (and us) and even let Heath channel Obi-Wan Kenobi by lending him a sweater.
Anxiously awaiting the start of the show.
Truly wonderful the mind of a child is.  Adore him I do, my young padawan.
