Grana and Grandpa visited this past weekend and as usual we didn't rest much. However in walking into the kitchen one morning I came across a deep discussion occurring over morning coffee. I couldn't help but think back to all the conversations had around the table at Gram and Gramps' home and warmed my heart.
Not much rest though because they got going on retiling the terribly ugly brown tile in Luna's room. (Our three season room)The inspectors were on the job.
And because two weren't enough, when Nonnie and Poppie arrived, Poppie got in on the action.
Later that evening we had an early celebration of Ashlyn's 11th birthday. Eleven! Our baby is growing up so fast.
Her new karaoke machine was fully charged and blasts as loud as you can imagine.Heath had a couple of games in the rain on Sunday and in between them we went for a walk. He made it to the top but didn't go much farther.
Afterwards we went to Ashlyn's favorite restaurant of all time, Olive Garden. The staff came out to sing happy birthday to her which she secretly loved but was completely embarrassed by.
Also snuck in there was a team project where Heath and his friend Jesiah needed to design and build a castle per the specifications of the assignment. They needed to build it without adult assistance which they successfully did by Monday morning.
Ashlyn got the box set of one of her all time favorite book collections, Five Nights at Freddie's and she couldn't be happier.
The actual day of her birthday happened to land on a school night. Even so we had some of Nonnie's cheesecake left over which was more than enough for a candle and a wish and is turning into such a charmingly lovely young lady.
