What does a weekend of old friends that have become family and a slew of children in a single cabin in Big Bear look like?  It looks like this.  Pajama clad breakfasts and hugs, oftentimes surrounding the cabins pinball machine.

Followed by a day of Snowboard School filled these two with nervous excitement while they waited to be fitted for their gear.

Resulting in a couple of kids that are ready for the slopes.  Steven caught a glimpse of Reghan in her turquoise sweater and purple pants cruising down the slope.  If you don't see the video below, click on the following link.  Reghan's first time Snowboarding

We knew when the two of them were doing pretty good in school when we saw them go over head on the lift to the top.

I went out with Peter while Meg held a perfectly placed table for us to stop in occasionally for a rest and a refresher.  And boy were those refreshers good.

Meanwhile the littlest ones rode the magic carpet to the top of the tubing hill for some riding.  Ashlyn and Maddy conquered it on their own one of the times.

Bea lost interest pretty quickly with the tubing but was able to pull off my snow goggles better than I could.

A key theme of the weekend was a milestone birthday for a certain someone. 

The boys found a comfy spot and gravitated to their corner regularly.

Max and Heath took their chances with Toilet Trouble.

While the girls pampered themselves with a relaxing bath.

But one might ask how much of a disaster can we make in less than 24 hours?  This much.

Big Bear reached record highs this weekend which allowed us to take in the sun throughout the weekend.  Breakfast bacon was done on the grill followed by a game of horseshoes.

Whether it was daytime or night, the hot tub didn't get much rest.

Closing the evening out with a game of Beat the Parents.  (The parents lost fair and square)  

The morning we departed was Anne's actual birthday.  We were able to sing her Happy Birthday over cheesecake with a hand dipped candle that Reghan made.  Happiest of birthday's to one of my favorite people ever.  It was a long overdue, busy, crazy, awesome, adult and child filled weekend surrounded by our California family.  Here's to the next one.
