The same weekend, the kids flew back to Nonnie and Poppies for the first half of the summer.  Although the goodbye to daddy at the airport was sad, once they turned towards the terminal, they immediately cheered up for what they knew was ahead of them.
Our little troopers pulled off the red eye and awoke bright and early to trudge through the airport.  I must say it's definitely easier now that they each can bring their own bag.
The rest of the weekend was all smiles.
Nonnie and Poppie picked up a pool for the backyard and the first day was spent filling it up.  Between this in the backyard, two other neighbors with pools, and daily swim lessons, it's going to be a water filled summer.

Heath stuck close to Poppie, practicing to become a junior grill master.
Auntie Amy's birthday was on Sunday and it was spent lounging with the kids and eating our way through the day.
Bright and early on Monday they went to their first day of swim lessons and did really good.
The pinnacle of the lesson for the older two is because the last few minutes of each lesson they get to leap off the diving board a few times and get some major air.
Some merry-go-round twirls and an ice cream cone before I left.  Lot's of smiles, fun, and laughs were had and for sure there will be more to come in the coming weeks.
