They made cars to race in the derby. Heath's crashed at the finish line due to his spoiler being too high and Reghan came in first place.
If you can't see the video below, click on the following link. Brick Fest Derby RaceFollowed by a trip to Starbuck's.
A visit to the nail salon.
Culminating with a lunch out. Our activities of the day couldn't have been more opposite.
Afterwards the kids relaxed with some friends for a quiet movie driven afternoon.
Earlier that weekend marked a turning point for Heath. Nonnie and Poppie had been working with him over the summer to ride his bike without training wheels and Saturday was the first time him and I went for a big kid bike ride around the neighborhood. I see many many more in our future.
While we were riding, Reghan vowed to spend the whole day in her pajama's but that didn't stop her from inventing the automatic doorbell ringer which now stands at our front door.
She then moving on to create a rock family. They had heard "Who's on First" by Abbot and Costello the day before and the names of the rocks reflected a similar vein. There was Jerry, Dan, I Don't Know (because he doesn't know anything), Who (for obvious reasons), Tomorrow, Don't You Know (because don't you know that's his name?), and for visual reference, What's to the right of Don't You Know and Who's next to Jerry.
Our handsome boy got a haircut.
A trip to the pool. Yes, Ashyln has pencils and we're not exactly sure why.
Night's filled with Ashlyn teaching Daddy how to dance.
When he's not practicing, he's running around with the other younger siblings at the park or exploring the adjacent trails.
But nothing is better than when one of them wakes up early and can't wait to give you a big morning hug and kiss. In this instance, Miss Ashlyn ran around the corner only being up for about 2 minutes and of course she has on multiple layers of pj's that she put on throughout the night. It seems to be her new nightime ritual. Waking up in a completely different set of pajama's then she went to be in.
