Romps and rolls through the grass with neighbors and Halloween crafts.
Friday brought about two fall festivals. Beginning the night at Ashlyn's school we had two Black Cats and one Iron Man.
Shortly after we made our way to Reghan and Heath's school's festival. Although they love the movie Nightmare Before Christmas, they weren't too keen on seeing Jack Skellington in the flesh. He was manning the blow up slide so the only way in was through him.
They quickly found their friends and became of blur for the rest of the night as they ran from activity to activity and just plain ran. The green footed obscure shape below is Heath. He had a least a half hour of solid running laps with his friends with an occasional wrestling match thrown in there while Ashlyn was enjoying the DJ and pumpkin decorating contest entries inside.
No rest for this crew; they were up early for soccer the next morning with some well deserved play time afterwards. Not too long though because we headed off to our friend's Anne + Brian's house for their neighborhoods first annual block party which we were kindly invited to.
After the prep in the kitchen by our very own, world renowned chefs, we took off to Long Beach for an afternoon of food, play, and pumpkin decorating. Anne and Brian hosted it and as usual, they went all out. Thank you for inviting us along, the kid's pumpkins are proudly displayed on our front porch.
The kids have been saving their allowance, tooth fairy money, and the occasional small bills in cards for something special. A couple of weeks ago they all saw something they've been wishing for from Toys-R-Us and Sunday was the big day they got to break into the banks to get the toys. They each paid on their own and had change left over to put back into their banks. It's not the first time we've done this with them but these gifts happen to be the first time they really really wanted specific toys and they have not disappointed them.
Needless to say, we have three extremely excited creatures who are counting the days until Halloween. Just one week to go.
