Auntie Jewlz flew in for a quick visit and as always it felt way to short.  After the first day of me schlepping her around for work and a great lunch we picked up the kids who immediately leapt into her arms.  The next morning we went on a morning hike followed by yet another good lunch then home to prep Reghan for her first Daddy Daughter dance.

Reghan looked like a princess thanks to a dress specially picked out by Nonnie and hand made jewelry that matched perfectly from Evelyn Rose. The theme was Alice in Wonderland with the color scheme of red, black, and white.  Daddy had a single rose ready for her as she walked down the stairs.

Running around outside the dance followed by a trip to get frozen yogurt.

The  next day we ventured to Long Beach.  Spent a little time with Anne and Bea, had lunch and some fried ice cream, a first for the kids, then worked our way to the beach.  It was a bit chilly to go near the water but that didn't stop them from enjoying the sand dunes and chasing birds.

 

And playing on some more dunes.  After they were dusted and cleaned up, we continued our adventure to the Monster Truck Rally at the Aneheim Angels park.

 

 

Out of the gate we needed to scope out the pit and got some sneak peaks at some of the trucks.

Then the noise.

Followed by the crash.  Two out of three passed out with 20 minutes left in the show but surprisingly, Heath came to here and there and remembered more than we thought he did.

The following morning we all slept in.  Taking full advantage of Auntie Jewlz, Steven and I went for a nice long bike ride which was a special treat for me since I was able to take out my brand new bike from my birthday for the first time.  Heath and Reghan went to swim lessons later in the day while Auntie Jewlz remained at home and cooked and incredible dinner and desert.  With all this, we still ran out of time to do some of what we wanted to do.  Although it's sad to have her gone, we know she'll be back in a couple of months for Easter so it's not too somber this time.
