Auntie Jen Jen coined it perfectly, "monster Octopus tries stealing Pirate's booty (candy) and is thwarted by Iron Man."

Let's start from the beginning of the hallowed weeks' festivities with Reghan's school's parade.  She paraded in front of the entire school with us parent's cheering them on.  When we arrived there were two rows of chairs for each of the classes neatly set up.  When finished, the kids carried their chairs back to their classrooms, "the proper way."

The teachers for each of the classes wore team costumes and the winning team's classroom would receive additional surprise supplies.  The 4th grader's Three Blind Mice won, but I think the Kindergarten teachers were pretty crafty with theirs.  (notice an octopus in the background?)

Later that day, I volunteered in Reghan's classroom for their Halloween party and was at the Frankenstein table. It was the first time this year I've been in her classroom to volunteer and she was beaming. 

Wednesday night we found ourselves at her soccer coaches house for their season end party.  And what would a party be without pizza, cupcakes, awards, and booty shakes?

 

The morning of Halloween, Reghan's school had dress up so she pulled out a costume from a couple of years ago to wear.

Then off we ran to Heath and Ashlyn's school for their parade where their classes made their own cosutmes.  Ashlyn was first and walked to the song Monster Mash while she proudly strutted on her own in her monster hoodie.  Heath followed soon after strutting his stuff to Who Let the Dogs Out dressed as a puppy.

During Heath's walk, Ashlyn found a butterfly net and was running around trying to catch the other monsters with it.

Finally it came.  Reghan worked hard on her Evil Octopus pose before the trio made their way to our neighbors houses.  They always need to see them before it gets too dark because once the sun goes down, the houses become even scarier.

They brought in a good haul this year and throughout the night we bounced between group to group by running into friends.

We spent quite a bit of time at Cavenaugh's house (a classmate's of Reghan's) because he had Henry.  Henry was a ghoul that was on motion sensors and would jump out from hiding when at the front door.  Ashlyn was fearless but Heath and Reghan was having no part of it.

Closing the night by ripping into the candy on the front porch while Heath and Ashlyn handed out candy in between running up and down the street on their sugar high no longer afraid of any of our neighbors houses.  

Reghan, surrounded by her many glasses of water, and barreled through about half of her booty that night.

Reghan's last soccer game of the season was on Saturday.  After the game there was a mini celebration at the field where trophies were given out and Coach TJ cut each of the girls names off the banner to give to them.

Given the games last about an hour and Ashlyn has very little attention span, we played on the play structures then went exploring down the Paseo.  She was delighted when she came across the tunnel and was even more thrilled to show her brother and sister afterwards.  Click here if you don't see the video below.  Post Soccer Game Exploring

Later that day Reghan had birthday party to attend and we have entered into the age with her where you drop off and leave which meant a couple of hours with only the younger two which rarely happens.  As soon as we walked in she dumped me to join her friends without looking back.  .

Sadly on Sunday, Ashlyn revealed her secret cheese head which did please Auntie Jewlz.  Shame.  (No worries though, the Bears pulled it off this week.)
