Auntie Amy came in for a very long weekend and it was such a wonderful weekend. We kicked off her visit with Stand Up Paddle Boarding in Long Beach. Surprisingly we did pretty well. Fell a few times, saw a few seals along the way, and are completely hooked.
Even Steven's got the itch for more.
Lot's of fun with the kids.
The next morning we grabbed a quick breakfast before heading to the Griffith Observatory.
Amy and Ashlyn were best bud's while at the Observatory.
Lot's to see.
Of course Ashlyn (our little shoe lover) would find the greatest joy in Albert Einstein's shoes.
The afternoon was spent in the pool. Have you seen Carlos?
Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we received a text on Saturday night that looked like this with a ring of the doorbell quickly following. Yes - Auntie Katie flew in without us having any knowledge! Auntie Amy picked her up under the guise of having dinner with a friend who was vacationing in LA. Sneaky sneaky.
The next morning we packed up and headed to Zuma Beach for the day. With adults outnumbering the kids by one, it felt like a mini vaca for Steven and I. But what happens when you add a jumping excited boy who's just arrived at the beach with an Auntie bending over him? Yep, a head but resulting in a shiner. Over the course of the next couple of days it continued to get worse.
By the end of the day, sand was in every crevice.
Conditions were perfect for kite flying and Reghan and Heath were naturals.
The last full day of their visit we hit up the water park.
Did some romping in the backyard.
Followed by haircuts, compliments of Auntie Katie. We've taken to give Heath cuts in the buff right before bath time, so much easier to clean him up. Yes, that's a bag over a pillow to prop him up higher, like I said, easy clean up. Girls - we miss you lots!!!
