Reghan's birthday came in like a December storm and just like that they're 14!  We had a family get together to celebrate with a couple of Nonnie's pies for dessert.  Everyone was so generous with their gifts and was very much appreciated by them.

The following week was our town's tree lighting.  From a parade, to Santa, to the nativity set and stores having outdoor runway shows, just to name a few, it's become our yearly trek to start out the season.  Last year it was canceled and it was nice to have a taste of it back again this year.
Next up was finding the perfect huggable tree which we sure did!  So much that weeks later the kids are still walking by and commenting how much they love the tree.  It was Reghan's year to place the topper on it which given the size of it was a good thing since they are most likely the only one that could've reached the top.
Waiting for a check up Reghan tried to climb into a locker, almost made it too.
Just when they thought the birthday week couldn't get any better, we went to Reghan's first art show.  While they're not proud of the piece they submitted, nonetheless they won big time.  "Best in Show" for their age group.
The birthday celebration continued into the following weekend when we headed into Chicago with some of their friends.  We visited the Museum of Medieval Torture Devices, meandered around a bit then had a tasty dinner to round out the day.

Heath and Brody found their nooks and crannies to carve out for themselves too.
The museum had some interactive parts to it that the kids were getting a kick out of.
And while they may be teenagers now, they still can't help themselves to play when they have the opportunity.

What a crew taking on the city on a gorgeous December day.
