Although the forecast called for a 1% chance of snow, a Christmas gift arrived with snow.  So much for that 1%, we had a white Christmas after all.

Each year we rotate who's to place baby Jesus in his crib the night of.  This year was Reghan's turn, a job each of the kids take very seriously.  Shortly followed by Steven reading The Night Before Christmas.  A tradition we've held since they were babes.

After their excruciatingly long wait at the top of the stairs they rushed downstairs to see what Santa brought his year.

Reghan was particularly happy with her stocking stuffer of Chic-fil-A sauce.

Grana came through with a surprise round of Gravity Falls shirts for all.

Either Reghan is growing or Nonnie's shrinking.  Not sure which one.

Ashlyn received her custom made platform by Nonnie and Poppie for in front of her room.

But this takes it.  Fully armed in her silk pj's on her platform ready to take on the world.

Grana may have won the shirt gift this year but Nonnie took the best gift of the year.  Backstory, each year Nonnie gives us calendars.  She's done this for as long as I can remember and a few years back she began to buy the kids their calendars as well.  Heath opened his and was speechless before we all broke out in laughter.  Best part is that Nonnie didn't see anything wrong with giving her grandson this and thought he could still put it in his room.  For once we were the responsible parents and quickly said that our 11 year old could not hang a pot calendar in his room of which he agreed.  

Heath asked Santa for two things this year.  A vacation to somewhere tropical and and Acer 5 laptop.  He's been saving and saving but not close.  Breaking with what he normally gets, everyone gave him money for his gift including Santa along with a note. He had enough by the end of the day and with the added surprise when Steven brought his new computer out for him.  Between his new computer, new gamer headphones, and mouse, we've barely seen him.

Even though this was not our typical year, it was still a wonderful Christmas with family here and there.  A nice way to close out the year.
