The road trip to North Carolina this year incorporated a couple of stops along the way. First up, fireworks. They all expected to walk into a pick a few sparklers and perhaps a bottle rocket or two but their jaws dropped upon the sight of thousands of types of fireworks. All getting ready for the July 4th weekend.
The second stop along the way was to the Arc Encounter in Kentucky. We weren't quite sure what to expect and it didn't dissapoint.
Perhaps one of the best parts of the visit was the fresh funnel cake and fried oreos.
The weather was perfect the entire weekend and as usual the views are spectacular.
Reghan couldn't wait to hop on the mule with Grandpa. He had her pull it out and she served as a shuttle service for the weekend.
Aunt Linda was prepared with a freezer full of ice cream treats. When I say full, I mean boxes upon boxes of ice cream treats ready to be devoured by the infiltration of kids.
Ashlyn kept her nose in her book for much of the weekend.
Except of course when there was food on the table.
The weather cooperated so well and had multiple dinners outside with hardly any bugs to be found.
Another generation of boys took over the mountain.
With really really bad stunts.
Leading to scrapes and a few bruises here and there.
Leaving the dancing and entertaining to the younger ones.
Twinsies from afar.
And finally the sparklers came out followed by an awesome firework show.
It was a relaxing weekend filled with catching up with family. Cheers.
