A night locked in the Field Museum with a bunch of middle schoolers...sign us up.  Reghan's sixth grade class took over the Field Museum for their "Dozin' with the Dino's" field trip and was such a fun night and we luckily found a great niche to set up our bags.  During the couple of hours of lights out before quiet time, us parents were able to hang and play cards while the kids took over the museum.  We shockingly slept well and would do it all over again.

Reghan's water polo team is finally beginning to gel and are getting stronger and stronger with each week while Heath continues to grow in gymnastics.

We dog sat Luna for about a week while I snuck away for the weekend for our second annual girls weekend.  Both Emily and Anne flew in for it and although the kids didn't get a chance to see Anne this time, they thoroughly enjoyed every moment with Emily.  She was even roped into the final tweaks of the kids Pinewood Derby cars for the upcoming race.

In the past they've all gone for style but this year Heath and Reghan's objective was speed.  They researched and studied how to adjust and weight their car and it paid off.  For the first time they placed for speed with both of them winning second place in their respective races.  Ashlyn, on the other hand, had the mission statement of, "I'm not going to for speed, I'm going for beauty" and she did.  Her blinged out ice cream truck was a hit of the race.

Meanwhile we were in the city for what began as a perfectly civilized weekend.  At least it started out that way but certainly didn't end that way.  Wouldn't change a thing ladies.

I oftentimes watch the kids with their dad and can feel the love radiating off of them during the the most random times.  Like when it's Saturday morning and Ashlyn patiently teaches him how to make friendship bracelets so he can make them for his coworkers.  (sidenote:  he actually did pretty good)  It's the most natural interaction and makes me melt.
