We had quite a few hours before our plane left in St. Louis before we left for home so we rented a car and took off to the Gateway Arch. After an excruciating long and painful lunch we walked through the capital building as a shortcut to the Arch. They couldn't get over the murals on the rotunda ceiling and the flags everywhere.
It was a hot hot day and a long walk to the Arch. Coupled with all of the construction for the expansion and tickets to the top being sold out, it all made for an even more interesting day.
We did try to get a picture of them holding it up which was more fun to watch it then the final product.
The pilots gave them a tour of the cockpit on the way back and were invited to come up during the flight to see them in action. They got us home safe and sound with a little help with the kids.
