Heath finally got to go to the "big kid" school.  The first day of school was last week and Heath is part of the Transitional Kindergarten (TK) class while Reghan started First grade.  With all of the excited energy, the obligatory first day of school pictures was a bit of a struggle this year.

Beginning at the beginning of the week, Monday was orientation for the various classes, the annual Ice Cream Social, and back to school parents night.  It was a very full day which rev'd the kids up for another year.  With Heath being in TK, he has two teachers, Mrs. Galarza and Mrs. Fujino, who handled the kids fabulously.  For orientation Heath safely stayed in the middle of the pack.
He finished his first "assignment" which was a scavenger hunt to find all of the classroom items and locations of things he'll need to know daily.  He fairly quickly finished and raced over to get his completion sticker.
With his welcome packet in tow, it was then time for Reghan's orientation.
Now that Reghan's in First Grade she officially gets a desk.  Her desk mate is Dylan, a boy from her class last year which brought a smile to her face.
Her new teacher, Mrs. Farr, sure knew how to channel Reghan's interest when she showed pictures of a just a couple of her many many pets.  Yes, the kids in the front row look a little big but it is orientation so us parents got to tag along.
Reghan and Ashlyn woke up early so they could make the first day of school breakfast themselves.  Heath followed Reghan for the walk up the hill and down the sidewalk at school to Reghan's class line up location on the playground.

Soon Reghan found some of her bud's from last year and her nerves quickly began to dissipate.
On the other hand, Heath's nervous tension was beginning to grow as we headed to his area.  But once in class, instead of the middle of the rug, he went straight for the front.
After a quick peek into Reghan's class prior to leaving the campus, the new year of school was off to a good start.
The days leading up to the first day were packed.  Night time tooth brushing turned interesting when they all decided wearing panties and underwear on their heads would improve the efficacy of the toothpaste.  Thankfully they pulled them from the clean drawer.
Soccer practices started for both Reghan and Heath.  This is Heath's first year and Reghan's Watermelon Warriors are back together with Coach TJ at the helm, only this year they've decided to change their name to the Minions.  Heath's team name is still outstanding.

A quick bite at Subway followed by a mouth full of Pop Rocks on the way home one day before burying Heath under a pile of just about everything they could find.  I'm still not sure how he breathed under there.

Ashlyn whipped us up a batch of brownies.  We then got to witness what happens when Ashlyn's carefully thought out princess and my little pony city is erected and then destroyed by their brothers cars and dinosaurs.
A trip to the mall for back to school clothes.  Sorry Heath, we're going to have to pass on these this year.
Followed by a night of ice cream sundae's with home made hot fudge followed by a sneak peak into the inventors work corner.

All this after a bath because although we went to the beach 2 weeks ago, we're still finding sand tucked away in ears.  No wonder when they looked like this.
And just when we thought we were past the panty head party, we walk into this.
