It's always amazing that no matter how long I've been gone my hometown it still feels like home.  We just returned from an 8 day girls trip and spent the entire time at Nonnie and Poppie's with the Aunties there for the bulk of it.  Reghan had a fantastic time running around similarly to how I ran around when I was her age.  After one of her many visits to the neighbor's trampoline -

- she picked and ate green beans straight out of their garden.

She had cherry pit spitting contests with her buddy Tatum.

 The ride on Poppie's boat was definitely a highlight.

Although the boat is always a fun place to be, beware of the flying Asian Carp.  (Side note:  Since the early 90's Asian Carp have proved to be a ever growing problem in the waterways. http://www.glfc.org/fishmgmt/carp.php  Asian Carp like to jump out of the water and while it's entertaining, especially for a 3 1/2 year old, they're quite dangerous because they're large, can fly into boats, and hit people.  Actually, they've sent many people to the hospital not to mention denting boats.)  Well...leave it to me to be one of those 'lucky' people to get pelted on the head by approx. a 24" flying fish.  It then swiftly flopped itself out of the boat so the only proof of this hysterical headache causing, neck aching scene was Auntie Jen Jen and Poppie witnessing it first hand along with the gooey fish slime that it left behind, which by the way gets very hard once it's dried.  (This is right up there with my fish hook story.)

We visited our hometown park and relived some of our childhood feats, albeit not as easily as we did when we were 10 and this particular piece seemed a lot taller last time we hung from it.  Auntie Amy would certainly agree but she still gave it a go.

Followed by a quick  bath before the return trip.

After a week of tents both in the living room and outside, long talks around the fire pit with late night munchies and cocktails, craft time, good food and fun it was time to go.  Before we did we had to get a shot of the girls of the house.  Unfortunately Poppie didn't make it into the picture since he was the photographer but we know he was there.
